The Commonwealth
Lawyers Association Focus Group was established in June 2005. The Focus Group
commenced work to promote Australian interests within the Association and to
promote the activities of and membership in the Commonwealth Lawyers Association
to Australian lawyers.

The ILS - Immigration
Lawyers’ Association of Australasia (ILAA) Focus Group is representing practising
immigration lawyers throughout the Asia / Pacific region. Immigration lawyers
are best equipped to meet the challenges of providing expert advice to clients
who are attempting to navigate through an extremely complicated system. The
ILS - ILAA Focus Group seeks to further promote and improve the representation
of immigrants and provide information and services to its membership.

ILS - E will
give European lawyers practising in Australia and Australian lawyers with an
interest in Europe a platform for networking and information exchange, enhance
Australian interests in the European legal market and will establish
associations with European legal bodies, such as the Council of the Bars and Law
Societies of Europe (CCBE) and the UIA.

The ILS - LAWASIA
Focus Group was established in September 2006. The Focus Group commenced work
to promote Australian interests within LAWASIA and to promote the activities
of and membership in LAWASIA to Australian lawyers.

The ILS - China Focus Group is chaired by Ms Vivienne Bath, Senior Lecturer and Director of the Centre for Asian and Pacific Law at Sydney University. The primary purpose of the Focus Group is to hold seminars and provide information to help legal practitioners wanting information about Chinese law.
